Jed Rees is a Canadian actor, best known for his roles in movies such as Galaxy Quest (1999), Elizabethtown (2005) and Deadpool (2016).
He grew up on the east side of Vancouver and went to the University of British Columbia, where he studied music and business. Jed performed at several theatrical productions with the UBC theatre department before the movie to New York to attend the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre. After several years in New York, he went back to Vancouver to begin working on local film and television productions, as well as several plays.
Jed worked on the Stephen J. Cannel series, Hawkeye, the award-winning CBC movies, Little Criminals and the universal feature, Fear. In 1997, he returned to New York to star in the off-Broadway hit, Two Pianos, Four Hands, at the Promenade Theatre. In 1999, he drove his old Mercury to Los Angeles for his first audition and was fortunate enough to land a role in the film, Galaxy Quest. Since then, Jed has split his time between Canada and the U.S. working on various film and television productions. Some of his appearances include The Chris Isaak Show, Men With Brooms, Luck, The Ringer, Elizabethtown, DaVinci’s Inquest, CSI, Chuck, NCIS, Deadpool, and Mena.
Jed has since won best actor at the Houston Film Festival for his role in, Garbage and has been nominated for several other awards, including best actor in The Canadian Comedy Awards.
