Ernie Hudson is one of the most sought-after actors of our time. He is a beloved star in film, television, and stage with an impressive list of credits and awards whose body of work has a diverse range. Some of his most memorable work includes the 1984 film Ghostbusters, and the 1989 sequel Ghostbusters 2, which were both box office hits and standout fan favorites.
Some of his other credits include the award-winning film, The Crow, Miss Congeniality (2000), Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous (2005) and tv shows such as Oz and the final season of Law & Order. Ernie has guest starred in many popular shows like Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, and Grace & Frankie. He also can be seen in a cameo for the newest Ghostbusters 3 (2016). In February of 2017, Ernie Hudson began a new role in FOX’s newest police drama, A.P.B.
In his early years, Ernie Hudson served in the Marine Corps and ended up moving to Detroit, Michigan where he became the resident playwright at Concept East, the oldest black theatre company in the U.S. Later, he enrolled and graduated from the Yale School of Drama. He now is a father to four boys and divides his time between homes in Minneapolis and Los Angeles. Ernie enjoys giving back to the community whenever possible.
